But, let’s think about it this way ?why should these professions not exist? Gaming is a multibillion dollar business today. So it is only natural that game manufacturers would want to know the average gamer’s point of view before releasing the titles on which high stakes ride. This is what the job of a video game tester entails.
A video game tester gets what is known as the beta version of a game and he or she has to play through it to answer a feedback questionnaire that the client has demanded. This could be rating the game play or checking out glitches in the playability of the game or detecting bugs.
Seems to be a simple job, which it is, but it does have its own share of effort too. Sometimes the tester has to play a difficult level over and over again. Sometimes the games are boring, but the tester cannot afford to omit them for fear of losing a client. And getting the right kinds of clients is always a difficulty. The tester has to prove to them that they can do the job well.
If you want to get into the job, welcome. There’s a lot of space here for everybody. Just keep in mind that it’s not all fun and games and you will do it quite well.
